We are a subsidiary of the Hirdaramani Group, a billion-dollar conglomerate with a 125-year legacy. We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Projects. This position involves overseeing technical compliance and quality control for construction projects, from evaluating bids and warranties to inspecting work, developing remediation plans, and ensuring adherence to Australian standards

The Job:

  • Evaluate product warranties and performance specifications prior to tender submission to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct a thorough review of the contractor’s specified methodologies to ensure that the products and techniques proposed meet project requirements and standards.
  • Monitor and assess construction activities to ensure alignment with the agreed proposal, performing technical review of the work being executed.
  • Assess bids provided by contractors from a technical perspective to select the most suitable contractor for the project.
  • Inspect work done throughout the project such as walls and membranes, documenting findings to ensure compliance with Australian standards and project specifications.
  • Develop remediation plans for various projects. For example, balconies to address any structural issues, ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
  • Prepare detailed documentation outlining solutions for remediation defects.
  • Liaise with onshore project managers in finalizing the onboarding, execution and completion of projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Structural engineering)
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience
  • A member of IESL (The Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka)
  • Willingness to work during Australian shift hours
  • Experience in engineering or construction would be an added advantage
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good attention to detail with excellent skills in Microsoft office programs such as word and excel.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent client changes or requests.
