We are a subsidiary of the Hirdaramani Group, a billion-dollar conglomerate with a 125-year legacy. We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant. This position involves supporting senior accountants in year-end closing, tax returns, GST issues, Div 7A, CGT, FBT compliance, and daily accounting operations while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

The Job:

  • Support Senior Accountants in year-end closing processes, including preparation of adjustment journals and financial statements
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and solutions on complex GST issues, including input tax credits, GST adjustments, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with Div 7A compliance and calculations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with tax laws.
  • Manage CGT calculations, including asset disposals, exemptions, and concessions.
  • Handle FBT compliance, including preparation of returns.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve accounting and taxation issues efficiently and professionally.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Australian Accounting (Mostly in financial preparation and tax returns
  • Proficient in Xero, MYOB, and other generic accounting systems and software.
  • A degree in accounting or a related field. CA/CPA/CIM qualifications are highly advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and connect with a diverse range of clients.
